Hard Work and Fun at the Goshen Country Fair!

Someone has said that come August, if you’re not “down the shore” you’re at the Goshen Country Fair. That’s certainly true for our hard-working and fun-loving East Goshen Democratic volunteers and candidates, who turned out in force at the Fair last week. Here are a few photo highlights.

Fair preparations included stuffing school backpacks with useful supplies (and valuable gift cards!) to be raffled off. Here, from left,: Marie Knox, Walter Wujcik, Edda Schwartz, and Clara Thorne fill backpacks for the raffle. (Photo: Julieta Calmon)

Taking advantage of our high-traffic location next to the donut stand, candidates and volunteers reached out to fairgoers. Here, a volunteer for candidate Fredda Maddox (Judge, Chester County Court of Common Pleas) distributes campaign literature. Behind her is a sign for our Civics Trivia Quiz — everyone who participated received a free copy of the U.S. Constitution. Plus, there’s a display for the backpack raffle, not to mention candidate signs galore. (Photo: Clara Thorne)

Candidates Daryl Durnell (West Chester Area School Board; incumbent), Barbara Emery (East Goshen Township Supervisor), Michele Vaughn (Chester County Register of Wills; incumbent), Nicole Forzato (Judge, Chester County Court of Common Pleas; incumbent), and Alex Christy (West Chester Area School Board; incumbent), and many others not pictured here, all agreed that meeting voters at the Fair was a valuable and enjoyable experience! East Goshen Committee Person's Letter Published in the Inquirer

A Letter to the Editor from Precinct 8 Committee Person John Groch was published in the July 14 Philadelphia Inquirer. John noted the hypocritical behavior of “Moms for Liberty” co-founder Tina Descovich, who advocated the removal of “misrepresentation and misinformation” from public discourse — and then turned right around and promoted her own misinformation. As he concluded, “So much for removing misrepresentation and misinformation.” The full text of John’s letter is at https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/letters/letters-to-the-editor-july-14-2023-20230714.html .
